This is probably one of my new favorite restaurants – it even rivals Treehugger’s!
This little hidden treasure is in Lakewood on Clifton. It doesn’t look like much from the outside, easy to pass up, but it was great.
Jake looked up vegetarian friendly restaurants and this one popped up.
First of all, it so SO cute inside!
We ended up getting the strawberry banana cake. Took it home and ate it a couple days later. It was very scrumptious.
Picture of the menu:
Jake got a Kona smoothie – espresso, milk, banana, peanut butter and chocolate syrup. He also added a shot of wheat grass.
For an appetizer we got the Caribbean Style Guacamole:
It was delicious and so fresh! You could tell they just mashed the avocados. Juicy tomatoes and pineapples made it all the more succulent. The pita was perfectly cooked – not too soft or too hard. And those plantain chips! Yum!
For dinner, Jake got the Black Bean Veggie Burger:
Tasty patty, avocado, a spring mix of garden greens, tomatoes, onion and chipotle aioli. The fries were great and had this perfect homemade seasoning on them. And the cole slaw I am about to go on about because it was great!
I got the Caribbean Veggie Tostados:
Hummus spread (chimmy churry flavor on this day), grilled pineapples and zucchini, yellow squash, peppers, eggplant, tomatoes, lettuce and avocado. Served with salsa and sour cream. I’ve never had eggplant that tasted that good! All the flavors together were perfect. And I can’t get over how FRESH everything tasted. It’s so hard to find such tasty, fresh food. I mean finding fresh fruits and vegetables at the grocery store is almost impossible. It’s awesome to find a place with food that is actually of great quality.
We also ordered the two sides – homemade potato salad and marinated cole slaw:
Both delicious. I love trying cole slaw at different places and once again, this is the best I’ve ever had. It isn’t made with mayonnaise; therefore, vegan. And it was seasoned perfectly with dill. I LOVE dill, so this was wonderful for me. And it was perfectly marinated – not too dry, not too soggy. The potato salad was all scrumptious. Also seasoned with a little dill and very creamy. Yum!
I can’t wait to go back.
Yep – kitty in the window. 🙂
