The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusted in him, and I am helped: therefore my heart greatly rejoiceth; and with my song will I praise him.
This particular devotional is about how when we are helping everyone else, it can become exhausting. Then we are the ones who also need help. “Who helps the helper?”
“The Lord does. When we are weak, He is strong. When we are vulnerable, He is our shield. When we can no longer trust in our own resources, we can trust in Him.”
I find that sometimes I try to find ways to handle everything all by myself. Then, later, I realize: I should have just stopped, prayed and asked for His help. Duh! I need to remember to go to Him FIRST.
Father, I’m worn out. I can’t care for all the people and needs You bring into my life by myself. I need Your strength. Thank You for being my helper and my shield.
